The fast make-ready binding systems for commercial prints, on offer by Wohlenberg, can be tailored to individual requirements. There is a manual make-ready version, or the latest e version, which provides an electronic automated set-up. The Wohlenberg Perfect Binder City e provides highly automated hot melt and PUR adhesive binding for publications ranging from 2mm up to 60mm, and can be bound at a maximum of 6,000 cycles per hour. Changes can be made during production and setting times can be reduced with the inclusion of the Navigator SE graphic user interface. With the use of this interface, and its incorporated fault diagnostic system, problems are pin pointed and instructions on troubleshooting and fault elimination are also given.
Wohlenberg also manufactures state of the art guillotines and three knife trimmers.
Guillotines range from 76cm up to 225cm. The latest windows technology as well as a 12 inch, high quality, touch screen display allow for greater operational ease.

The latest technical achievement by OSAKO features microelectronic technologies incorporated into monitoring devices on saddle stitchers and cross stackers. This illustrates OSAKO’s commitment to developing advanced automation and labour reducing processes in the bookbinding industry.
Osako has entered the automatic make-ready market with their 12,000 cph saddle stitcher - Tener Alpha. The Tener has been available with auto make-ready trimmer for some time but the fully automated feeders mean that this machine can now truly compete with the likes of Muller Martini and Heidelberg in terms of productivity based on actual production speeds and minimal make-ready times.
The machine features full colour touch screen technology and is supplied as standard with signature scanner, wire monitor, misfeed eject, delivery speed changeover, auto stitch head positioning, and a double-check system utilising both digital & mechanical calipers. Optionally available is full copy control system and camera section detection.
The machine, shown for the first time at DRUPA 2008 is expected to compete well in the UK and European markets where automatic make-ready has become often a prerequisite for this level of saddle stitcher.
